Programs Offered

  • Diploma in Nursing (Direct entry)
  • Diploma Nursing or Midwifery (Extension)
  • Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery.
  • Certificate in Family planning. Offered to all our students who are interested in the course.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the direct entry into the Diploma in Nursing Programme, a candidate must satisfy the following admission criteria:-

O-level Results:- Credits in the following subjects; English, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

A level Results:- A principal pass in Biology and two subsidiaries in Chemistry, Physics, Food and Nutrition, and Mathematics.

  1. Extensor Diploma Programmes – Course duration 1.5 years
    (May intake)
    1. Diploma in Nursing
    2. Diploma in Midwifery

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for either of the above courses, one must have enrolled with Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Council and with a working experience of at least 2 years:

Enrolled Nurse or Midwifery – Should be at least in possession of an “O” level certificate -Pass a pre-entry Ministry of Education and Sports Oral and Written Interviews.

Age limit 25 years – 45years

On successful completion of the State Final Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB), candidates are registered by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) and issued a practicing certificate.

  1. Certificate Programmes – Course duration 2.5 years
    (November intake)

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for direct entry into the Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery Programmes, a candidate must satisfy the following admission criteria:–

O-level Results:– Credits in the following subjects; English, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
